The Bluff
Welcome to the Bluff. A podcast where we interview members of our school community—past and present—to keep alumni, staff, students and parents connected to the life and story of our high school-by-the-Bluff. Maybe you once attended or taught at Newman for a time. Maybe you are a current student or staff member, or you are thinking of sending your child to our school and want to know a little more about it beyond what you read in our pamphlet, look no further than The Bluff.

Episode 16
I had a lot of fun doing this one. Our guest today has been the woodshop teacher for a number of years. Today we will sit down and discuss his subject area; dispel some of the “trades work” myths we have all heard over the years, delve into his background and craft, and explore the various paths all students can take to get into the trades. The following I know is true beyond any doubt: If you need to build something out of wood, concrete, steel or any other material commonly used in construction today, this is the man with the plan—and he can read and design those too! We sit down with our very own Newman toolman Carm Natale.
